When
Marie Williams began the tradition of taking some time on Sundays to
pamper herself, little did she imagine it would lead to a niche bath and
body business.
Making
lotions for friends and families from natural, succulent plant extracts
was a hobby for Marie. It was
only after she met Kristy Bales, a candle maker, did the two launch a full
bath and body line and new start-up business in 2001.
Sundays would never be the same!
Early
on, the Succulent Sundays’ business idea of spa quality products made
from natural ingredients gained the attention from Ms. Foundation for
Women. The foundation is the
nation’s first national, multi-issue women’s fund, directing resources
to projects promoting women’s economic security, health and safety, and
leadership initiatives.
Today,
Succulent Sundays is operated by Kristy Bales in
Skaneateles,
New York.
Included among her complete line of natural based bath and body
products are unique items such as lotion bars which rub easily onto the
body, and lotion candles that melt into a body-temperature lotion for a
warm moisturizer/ massage oil.
Succulent
Sundays is currently found in seventeen states in the US and in Canada.
The lotion candle has been featured in Specialty
Retail, Whole Foods, Gifts and
Accessories, Shape, Bust, and
domino magazines. The
candle has also been in the Latin Grammy Awards gift baskets.

Succulent Sundays guide for living,” Bring the spa home with you and
